We searched far and wide to find this exciting young Argentine male, and are very grateful to Paul and Sally Taylor for selling him to us, also to Lynda Carothers for telling us about him. Mach One is tall, well-balanced, straight legged, has a gorgeous head, and extreme silky fiber. He has a great personality and presence, and was named Champion Silky Wool Male his first show where he attracted a lot of attention. His grandsire, Argentine Don Zunca, and dam, Argentine Machi, are considered two of the most important and influential Argentine imports. They both are renowned for their impact on the Argentine breeding in the U.S.

Kornerstone has sired 73 offspring as of the January 2013 ILR statistics; 32 males, 40 females and 1 gelding. They are scattered across the United States and many are champions. “Stoney” is a rich mahogany color, with very fine, luxuriously soft fiber. He is very gentle and very smart! Kornerstone’s offspring have consistently had outstandingly balanced and correct confirmation, long necks with especially attractive heads, wonderful dispositions, and exceptionally fine, dense, and rich colored fiber. Many are quite tall. His daughters have already proven to be outstanding mothers and pass on the above qualities to his grandchildren.

We have donated a breeding to Kornerstone for the 2013 North West Camelid Foundation Benefit Stud Service Auction on March 9th. He is available to outside females on a private treaty basis.

Argentine Simpatico

We leased Simpatico when Mach One was too young to breed, and then sent him back to Taylors before we saw his offspring. Big Mistake! We were so impressed with the three girls he sired for us, and the outstanding male, McKenzie Lake Quasar for the Parkers. They all have done exceptionally well in the show ring and have fantastic fleeces that have shown and sold well.

Simpatico’s sire, Argentine Sarmiento, was highly regarded as one of the selections to be imported from Argentina as only a youngster, and went on to have a very successful breeding career. Sarmiento’s sire, Salterin was one of the top choices of the mature males imported and has left a lasting legacy as a sire.

We have two females expecting crias by Simpatico this year, one the mother of his champion daughter, Wild Rose Hadley’s Dream, and the other a champion Arg. Kobra’s Kornerstone daughter, for our first Simpatico/Kornerstone cross. Also we have a Simpatico daughter expecting a cria with Mach One this year.

Simpatico is an important part of our Argentine breeding program, but he will be available for a few select outside breedings at private treaty.

Shok’N Awe has an impressive combination in his pedigree. His sire is by the very famous imported Argentine sire, Arg. Kobra and is out of the equally famous dam, Arg. Machi. Shok’s dam is by the imported and very influential sire, Arg. Don Zunca.

Shok even has very similar markings to his grandsire Don Zunca.

In the show ring Shok has accomplished quite a bit in Halter, fleece and performance classes. He has three Reserve Grand Championships in Extra Heavy Wool classes and even got a 2nd place at The Gathering as a juvie. In that tough competition he received a 2nd in Fleece On, single w/o crimp. His fiber is very dense, ultra fine and grows out fast. Shok is very laid back and quick to learn, enjoying doing obstacles, going in parades and on hikes.

He has two of the most influential imported Argentines as his grandsires, Arg. Kobra and Arg. Don Zunca, and we are excited to pick some nice girls to mate him with this year (13)

This oustanding Poltergeist son out of our treasured Arg. Kobra daughter, Arg. Paiva is a promising Jr. herdsire in our breeding program. His sire Poltergeist has an oustanding show record including being named ALSA Reserve National Grand Champion at halter. Ghost has earned one Grand Champioship and two Reserve Grand Championships for Silky Wool Male Halter classes, plus three first places and one Grand Championship in Fleece On classes. His pedigree is like a who’s who of the most impressive and influential names in Argentine breeding. His fleece draws raves from the judges, extremely dense, fine and silky. We are looking forward to Ghost being bred to some of our outstanding females this year.
